The Still Point

4We all need some space for quiet in our lives.  I am blessed to be able to give retreats and presentations in some beautiful places but for me, personally, Still Point is my “go to” place for renewal.  There are hermitages you can stay in, programs if you are interested or just peace and quiet if that is what you need.

On this page, I’ll share some of the beauty…a virtual retreat if you would like to think of it that way.  I would also like to share this excerpt from T.S. Eliot’s “Four Quartets” This, if I am not mistaken, is in the binder you will find in each cabin:

At the still point of the turning world. Neither flesh nor fleshless; Neither from nor towards; at the still point, there the dance is,  But neither arrest nor movement. And do not call it fixity, Where past and future are gathered. Neither movement from nor towards, Neither ascent nor decline. Except for the point, the still point,  There would be no dance, and there is only the dance.

9In every season, both in nature and in our lives, there is a unique beauty.  The noise of the world, the constant bombardment of our senses, seems to override the peace within us.  But the peace IS still within still and wait…

We are an integral part of creation…we are a most complex and wonderful creation.  Listen to the still, small voice within you.  Become what you were created to be.
